Analyzing a Conflict

1. The Rhoyinga crisis is a genocide happening in Myanmar due to religious conflicts between Buddhism majority and Muslim minority as well as their past history. Without anyone supporting them they are stateless forced to leave Myanmar and become refugees.

2. The Rohingya crisis is an international conflict, as thousands of Rohingya are forced to leave Myanmar and seek asylum in neighboring countries.

3. The issue is that Rhoyingas are not accepted by their own country and government because of their religious beliefs and the government is denying there is a problem and the military is killing people due to their siding with British colonizers and now being seen as traitors.

4. The two parties include the Burmese people and Rhoyingas within Myanmar.

5. The two parties, Rohingya and Burmese, are not equal in power as the Burmese are the vast majority ethnic group, and they control the military and the government. Therefore the decisions that the Burmese make affects the Rohinyas greatly.

6. The history goes back to 1824 when the British colonized Myanmar and the Rhoyinga sided with them so they could have a land to live on. Ever since then the tension between the two groups are very high for the Rhoyingas are seen as traitors.

7. The style of this conflict is both confront and avoid. While the military confronts the Rohingya and commits mass genocide, the government, on the other hand, avoids and denies the mass murders taking place within their country.

8. This conflict has been going on for hundreds of years and has not been solved in any way. Tension has been brewing for a long time, with several riots taking place over the years. Now the Burmese have decided genocide was the best solution. Now perhaps a peace agreement may solve the conflict, but not for a long time.
