Uneven Distributions of Natural Resources
Why are there uneven distributions of oil, natural gas, copper and geothermal activity around the world? Construct an explanation using C-E-R and use specific evidence from your research to support your answer.
There is uneven distribution because tectonic plates move around and distribute the natural resources unevenly. All of these natural resources copper, geothermal, gas, and oil have one thing in common, and that is tectonic plates.
For example, copper, as tectonic plates crash one grows deeper to the core which creates magma. From the heat and pressure magma, generates minerals inside which mean less space and the magma eventually breaks. That sends pieces to the sea to cool and crystallize creating copper. If it wasn't for the many tectonic crashes in Chile where most copper is found to make magma to copper there would have been less copper in Chile.
Another example is natural gas. When animals and plants die the tectonic plates shift covering layer by layer over the dead plants and animals. That creates natural gas from intense heat and conditions. If it wasn't for tectonic plates shifting and layering up the ground there wouldn't be more natural gas there than another.
Geothermal depends on how much magma you have underneath that will heat the rock above and water that heats it. This shows it depends on how many tectonic plates there are to grow near the earth's core and create the magma and heat for geothermal. The more tectonic crashes there are the more geothermal that will happen.
In conclusion, there is uneven distribution because tectonic plates crash at different levels and times, and sometimes some countries have more crashes than other and that creates more natural resources than other countries do. Also, it depends if you have more resources than others. For example, if you had a tectonic crash but you didn't have enough dead animals and plants there wouldn't be as big as an impact of many natural gasses.
Also except geothermal others are nonrenewable because gas and oil take a much longer time to be made compared to how much we use at the same time. Also even though there will always be magma for copper it will take a long time to explode, crystalize, and have the tectonic plates move, while for geothermal if you just have magma which will always be there it will keep heating up the rocks and water.
